OK & affordable - good for a budget. The delivery takes awhile, but the food is fine if you're on a budget and want some pretty good food!
Holy shizzle - amazing!.
This place kicks. So so good. I can't stop going. On top of being some of the least expensive chinese food I've ever encountered, it is far and beyond the best chinese food I've had so far in boston. Here's the scoop - lots of chinese restaurants do one or two dishes good right? I usually order the same thing at other restaurants because I dont want to order something nasty. Well this place does EVERYTHING great. I'm trying dishes I've never ever dared try anywhere else - and everytime without exception this place hits it out of the park. Best general gau's chicken in boston by a long shot. I've had nothing else even comparable.
Are you a texture person? Like your carrots and onions and green peppers cut thinly in long strips. Like the chicken in thin long strips too. This place is amazing on tecture. You're not going to find chunks of green pepper and onions so big they don't cook right. Try the garlic chicken for an entirely new experience on the norm. I'm telling you - out of this world.
They're so nice inside, especially if you become a regular. This is not a restaurant to go to for ambiance. Its so fun though - if you can handle less than fancy, this little hole in the wall will keep you coming back night after night. I don't know what I'd do without them
Classic Student Dive. This classic basement dive on Comm Ave is greatly beloved by BU students. The General Gau's Chicken is always in high demand and, judging by how many people order it, is the unofficial house specialty. Like most dishes here, it's not consistent, but on a good day it's tangy, sweet, and crispy - some of the best I've had. Great lunch specials as well. Don't expect authenticity: if that's what you want, hop the Green Line to Babcock (Victoria Seafood Restaurant) or to Boylston (walk to Chinatown); but for "bad" Chinese food in the BU area, this place is hard to beat.
