Worst Italian Food I've ever had. I think the school cafeteria did much better. Harsh but true!.
Hmmm, where should I begin. I went there a month ago with 3 friends and not one of us found anything remotely redeeming about this place. The space was out dated, like something out of a 1970's bad Italian mob movie. We were all in agreement that popping open a jar of Prego and boiling up a mixture of some really bad packaged ravioil, gnocci or tortelonni would have been a much better alternative to what we got. Everything was under seasoned, the tomato sauces were watery like a BAD MARINARA. My friend said his Chicken Parm. was like shoe leather and to make matters worse the bread they served seemed like it came from the bottom of the bin. The salad's were good but that's annoying to even have to mention. The dessert was "old school" Italian style and seemed like it had probably been sitting in a freezer for months prior to them defrosting it. The waitress was (bluntly) A Mess, a total disaster of a server! A ten year old would have known more about Italian food from eating at chukee-cheez than she did.
Unfortunately we couldn't bring ourselves to return any of our food because we realized It Was, from beginning to end, Substandard!
Avoid the roof deck if you do not like to be surrounded by second hand smoke..
One of the apparenlty very few restaurants in Boston that have decided to compromise the above average food with poor atmosphere. 4 of us ate during the rust hour on a recent Saturday and found the service to be adequate but the atmosphere to be sophomoric. Fiore needs to decide if their roof is a bar or a dining area. It cannot be both as long as they allow both cigarette and pipe smoking.
It would have helped if our meals had been well above average but they were not. Fiore is efficiently run including pushing the bill on you at the end of the meal to clear the table for the next seating. We may return for a drink but the food at other neighboring restaurants is free of tobacco smoke and generally better.
Not worth it. We went recently for a crowd of 8 and were seated upstairs which was nice in the beginning. The waiter was very slow to get drink orders and we ordered 2 apps of calamari and mozzarella and tomato. Needless to say we needed another 2 calamari apps which were tiny! Overpriced for the quantity. The food was average at best so I would not recommend this place when there are so many other places in the N. End that are really good and have human size portions. Too pricy for this level of dining and quality of food.
Not up to North End standards. Very disappointing for a north end restaurant. even though the service was excellent, my meal was tasteless and my friend's meal, supposedly a baked sausage meal was 95% pasta. We won't be going again. Having eaten in the North End probably 50 times, this was the worst.
Excellent Mother's Day lunch!!. I was searching for a place for my Son and I to take my wife for Mother's Day. I looked at the reviews on this restaurant and was a bit leery! We decided to go based on the good reviews. I'm very happy to say that I will be adding another great review of this place! The service was outstanding and the food was even better. Our reservation was at 12:30 and we were greeted warmly and sat immediately. All three of us truly enjoyed our lunch and will certainly go back again. The one comment that my Wife made is that the ladies restroom was not the cleanest.
Best Italian in Boston. I had heard about Fiore through a colleague and my boyfriend and I decided to try it out. Fiore highly exceeded my expectations....starting with the host, he was very friendly and even struck up a conversation with us. Once seated our waiter came over promptly and could not have been nicer. He was gracious and attentive and when I couldn't make up my mind between 2 dishes, he came up with a compromise of combining the 2! It was perfect and they did not rip me off on the price at all! My boyfriend had the salmon and said it was the best he has ever had, we both talk about eating there again soon! I cannot wait to try the roof deck when the weather gets warmer! If you are looking for great Italian food at a relatively reasonable price I highly reccomend Fiore...you will not be dissapointed!
Made my Birthday!!!!!!!. My boyfriend took me here for my birthday and it was amazing. We didn't have to wait long and the customer service was great! I ordered the chicken parm which was so big I couldn't finish. And they even came out with a chocolate cake with a candle! It was very romantic and I definitely will be back!!
BEWARE - I got SICK from FIORE!!!. I was traveling on business and had dinner with old friends. I chose the pasta with seafood at Fiore and 5 hours later I started excreting from the mouth. I excreted for 3 hours and was rushed to the Emergency Room. I am certain that I ate a piece of seafood that was uncooked or held at inappropriate temperatures. The worst part was that when I called to tell them about my dreadful experience; they did not apologize, stated that it wasn't from their kitchen and would not reverse the charge on my card. It has been 1 week to the day and they refuse to take my phone calls. The customer service is absolutely TERRIBLE. Please please do NOT eat there. You do not want to go through what I have been through!!
Stay Home!. Stay home. Service pathetically slow. Food horrible. Waitstaff doesn't keep up on what the table needs. Food horrible! Our favorite restaurant was closed Sunday night and we wound up here. Would have preferred anything but. With all of the excellent restaurants in the North End, I am surprised this one is still in the game.
Fiore - Italian Restaurant Roofop. Not worth it! Restaurant was recommended by a waitress at another restaurant. My tips - don't do it if you are all about the main course. We had 7:30 reservations and were seated promptly at the rooftop - do not go when the sun is out! Also, do not sit by the bar unless you like the rowdy drunk crowwd. My husband and I are not picky eaters and are happy with anything that does not come out of a box, but I was still not impressed for the price. The appetizer, salad, and desset were great, but ordering, that was all up to us, as the waiter gave us no suggestions and was very slow. We saw other people with bread and had to ask for ours. The salad with the gorgonzola cheese and tomato was great, but main courses were ok; same thing you could get at other places for a cheaper price. If you are going to spend that money I would go to Legal Seafood by the dock - much better and far worth the money, also waitstaff there was helpful. Would I recommend if you are picky - no, but overall I had a good meal, but I believe better is out there.
