What can i say? Good Parking?

Very excited to go there. Traveled quite a distance based on reviews and menu. Staff was not that warm and welcoming as you might expect although our server was very knowledgeable about the menu. It was uncomfortably cold inside. The food went downhill as the meal progressed from Appetizer, through pasta, entree and desert. Overated for what it offers. Mediocre at best.

Scratch kitchen in the suburbs! What more could you aks for?

For the person who wrote a bad review. I think you should give DellaNonna's another chance. I agree that the hostess, who is also the owner's wife, is a bit surly, but if you can move past that, I think you'll find the food is worth it.

Della's is a scratch kitchen and that is difficult to find in the suburbs admist the TJ McFunksters and other fast food chains. Any time you dine at a scratch kitchen, you need to be cognizant of the fact that the cooks are making your entree from start to finish, nothing is premade or precooked. The food at Della's is worth going back for. I understand your frustration, as I have been there. So I know how disappointing a bad restaurant experience can be. However, I know most of the servers at Della's and all of them are on top of their game. I also know the owners have transitioned through a lot of cooks who have proven to be unrealiable - there is a reason Chef Ken DeFazio (a.k.a. Kenny) continues to work the Line - he has to because talented, reliable, commited cooks are hard to come by, especially in the suburbs. Kenny cares about his food and he cares about the experience people have in his restaurant. I know because I used to work for him as his garde manger and then "acting" pastry chef. I would bet that if he read your review, he would be upset. Additionally , he would want to make it up to you because that is Kenny's style. I have seen him go above and beyond to make a patron happy. Kenny isn't some pretentious ego chef, he is a very humble guy from humble blue collar roots -- nothing was handed to him. He had to work for everything he has.

I think you should give Della's another try and if the 2nd time around your experience is bad, then I'd be happy to eat crow!

Worth the wait...

I haven't even digested yet but I am compelled to tell you that this was simply the most satisfying, the most flavorful meal I have had in years. There was a bit of a wait but better to see a thriving and full restaurant than a lifeless and empty one. It was worth the wait! The service was extraordinary, very pleasant and professional. My steak was cooked perfectly and I am hard to please when it comes to my beef. My wife had the Bolognese, which I tried, and it was exceptional. Our dessert gelato was amazing, one taste and I was back in Rome. We will be recommending della Nonna to our friends and family!
