Go see Tracey. I go to Judy Jetson's and have been going for about 6 years. My wife also goes and we both see Tracey. She is a great cutter and my wife also gets hilights. We are always very happy with the results. Tracey is creative, a great listener (especially when I don't know what I am talking about), really great when we bring our kids and funny to boot. We wouldn't go see anyone else. She lives far away and if she ever leaves we both will follow her.

UPDATE: Tragic results for thick/curly hair. UPDATE: It's Christmas, and the bird's nest I got at Judy Jetson in May has finally grown out. And by the way, the stylist who wrecked my hair is one of the ones so highly recommended in one of the most recent reviews (Linda C, by the window). Buyer beware!

***

I got a really BAD CUT at Judy Jetson's. I went to Judy Jetson's based on the glowing reviews posted on CitySearch -- BIG MISTAKE. I have thick, curly/wavy hair and so asked for one of their curly hair experts. The "expert" made a MESS out of my hair. She used a razor and shredded my just-below-shoulder-length hair into 3-4" scraggly layers. I'm not complaining about an edgy style here -- it was cut entirely the wrong way for my hair type. I was unhappy at the end of the cut and she didn't seem to give a hoot -- she just told me to come back in a few days and she'd "fix it." I went to a different salon to get it fixed, and it will take a few months for it to grow enough to salvage it into a short bob. I thought Judy Jetson's was fun and funky (and my husband got a great cut there from David) -- it's just too bad my cut turned out so wretched.

Tarley is awesome!. No lie, she knows how to cut hair. I think I just got one of the best cuts I've ever had in my life. I will go to no one else. She was referred to me by 2 other people so I'm thinking I've found the right stylist.

Crazy salon, best haircut ever - see Tarley!. The atmosphere can be a little overwhelming with the stylists competing to be the loudest, but I get my hair done by Tarley and she rocks! She is consistently good and listens to what I want and gives me great tips on how to recreate the look on my own and she does it without any attitude.

This is by far the best salon in Cambridge.

Finally a Great Cut. I <heart> an awesome hair cut and get this every time with FERI! ... But if you want cheery, cozy, cuddly....um, not here. (JJ stylists in general have an attitude.)

I originally stopped going to Judy Jetson years ago when my snotty male stylist there had big issues when, one day, I brought my toddler with me. I really didn't need attitude or lip from any one, even from young singles like the JJ set. However, after trying almost every stylist in Cambridge and Somerville with low prices and the promise of funky styling, I went back, and I'm so glad I did. I'm a 40-something mom who couldn't get any stylist to look PAST that and give me something wild or experimental... styling I always had before I started to get crows feet and silver hairs.

I read a review of Feri here on this site, and booked an apt. I told her I was tired of these boring HausFrau cuts everyone was giving me and she totally understood. I came away with a cut that turned heads and drew compliments from everywhere! She had suggestions about my eyebrows, makeup, alternative wayss to style the cut, and was really supportive of me. And NO attitude but a fine eye for beauty!!

Wash, cut, blowdry is, I think, $45, and I always tip well - way lower than in Harvard Sq or downtown B'town.

My choice for years!. I'm picky, and have very tricky hair. Ever since I've been going to Maureen at Judy Jetson (probably around 4 years now), not only am I happy, but I get compliments on my hair ALL the time. This goes for both cut and color. She's helped me through some tough grow out phases, and successfully dyed my highlighted hair to match my brown roots -- which I wouldn't have thought possible after so many previous failed attempts with other stylists to get back to my natural color. The salon itself is relaxed and fun, and even though it's celebrated amongst local hipsters, the less adventurous shouldn't be intimidated -- I've seen all types walk out happy.

$275 for color & haircut--my nightmare experience. $275, that's what Feri charged after she colored and cut my hair. I was dumbfounded because it had been $160 the first time & she'd said the price decreased with each visit. What was different? She used 2 colors instead of one. Also the results--no two colors could be seen ,but there was half a head of broken off frizz in front. after two days

I have never had anything like this happen in my life.

I have never had such a bad hair....year. I suppose is what I now face.

Best cut ever!. I went to Judy Jetson Inc a couple of weeks ago, and had my hair done by Danielle. I love the cut. Danielle was really nice and great to talk to. She gave me honest advice and tips, which I appreciate very much. I will keep going back.

It Was More than a Bad Hair Day. I was very suprised to see the lack of respect for clients at this salon. I asked for a trim and i got shaved. The staff was terribly un-friendly and all thought that they were the best hair-dressers ever. Terrible....Terrible....Terrible!
