Allure provides a modern, warm environment for our guests without the scene-like atmosphere of other upscale salons. The staff invites customers to come and relax, while treating themselves to superior hair, skin and nail care services.

Their goal is to help guests achieve and maintain beautiful healthy hair. The staff's education makes the difference. All stylists have completed an associate program and the staff includes stylists who teach other stylists hair color and design all over the world.

To experience serious pampering, try a European facial custom designed for each customer's skins' specific needs, using world-renowned Pevonia products from Switzerland. Also offered are an array of waxing services, and tinting products for eyelashes.

Your skin will never have looked or felt so good.

I went to Allure needing to be rescued and I was. After frying my hair with heat and chemicals it looked like a haystack. On my first visit to Allure, Sandra patiently listened to what I wanted amd never gave me "the look" when she saw what I had done with scissors at home. After examining my hair, she described in detail what she wanted to do and why, then asked if that was okay with me. Her patience and excellent communication gave me confidence to let her apply her skills and experience. Throughout the cut and style she explained what she was doing and educated me on how to accomplish the same thing at home. I love the look she gave me, especially that I will be able to keep it up myself. The salon is low key, friendly, and the music is not ear-splitting. The prices are unbeatable for the quality of service and the fact that they stay open until 9pm reflects an appreciation of their clients' needs.. Thank you to all who posted reviews --they steered me to a gem in Denver.

Pros: Quality, price, atmosphere, hours

Cons: None

I came in to get my hair highlighted and ended up leaving paying $300.00 and had my hair low-lighted brown. I have a lot of hair and expect to be at the salon for several hours, which this salon also delivered. When we got started, I made myself perfectly clear that I wanted to maintain a blond color, but that the tone was a little too brassy for me. The woman that attended to me took this to mean that I wanted my hair colored brown, apparently- even though she insisted that the lower tone was still blond. She put low lights and highlights in my hair and did so very sloppily. As I sat processing, she left me with color all over my face, which did stain and to which she did nothing to try to prevent or fix after the fact- telling me that it would surely wash off in the shower later. Since I was left for an extremely long time to process, I got curious and started looking at my DARK BROWN low lights and became even more concerned to see the brown seeping into the blond foils due to lack of care. I was really upset, and the hair stylist seemed not even to care, and told me to wait two weeks and then come back to fix it if I still wasn't happy. The next surprise came at the cashier area, when I was told my botched highlight would cost me just under $300! I was shocked, so I insisted that the cashier tell me how the cost could get to that level. She explained that I was charged for the amount of color that they used, plus an extra fee for 'color correction.' So to make this clear, if you have long hair and they need to fill up their bowl with more liquid, they will charge you $50 per new bowl. AND, because I was pressured into putting two tones in my hair (which left the general color brown) I paid $50 per extra bowl of color for two colors- and of course a general fee for 'color correcting.' WOW! I did call to complain over the next two days and no one answered the phone, nor did it pick up to an answering machine. This was the worst experience I've ever had.

Pros: None that I can think of

Cons: Poor service, Insane costs, long processing times, unskilled staff

Response from this business

Are you sure you have the right salon?

As I read this review, I as the owner became very concerned about the situation. Here at Allure Hair Studio, we pride ourselves in the quality of our services. We also take the time to consult with our clients to make sure they are comfortable with what service will be performed. We do not have ANY addtitional color services that cost $50.00, and I am always available to speak with if a problem arises. We DO have voice mail that is checked regularly, and states non-business hours, so it is clear when a return phone call can be expected. I have also done some research, and we do not have any sales tickets on the 5th and the week prior that are even close to $300.00. So my question is do you have the correct Allure? There are two other salons with "Allure" as part of their name. Now, if it is indeed a service from Allure Hair Studio in Washington Park, then I apologize and would love the opportunity to make the situation right.
