OVER RASTED...!!!. My wife and I had dinner on Saturday. The yellowfin tuna sashimi was good quality product but needed more flavors. My wife ordered the muscovy duck which came to the table undercooked...let me be specific...it was raw. I ordered the suckling pig which was tasty but I don't know who they were feeding. The portion was minuscule. The place is noisy which I wouldn't say is romantic...! Try Pigalle around the corner for supassed food, atmosphere, value, romanticsm.

The Best in Boston!. Troquet is the Best! The mix of wine and delightful dishes is unbelievable. The staff is friendly and helpful. The atmosphere is perfect for a date or a group, but not too large of a group it is a small restaurant.

service. style. grace. taste.. Troquet is still a hidden jewel in Boston. So hurry up and go before you can't get in. The food is wonderful. I had a lobster appetizer that was buttery and lovely. My friend had the foie gras which was decadent. For dinner, we split a delicious salad and the cavatelli pasta with mushrooms and truffle oil. Sounds simple but it's full of flavor and hands down, one of the best pasta dishes I have ever had. The wine list is great. Enabling you to sample a flight of 2 oz glasses or go for the 4 oz. Service great and friendly. Cheese cart a nice touch. They wheel it over and let you choose. Enjoy!

good vegetarian option. i've been to a lot of nicer restaurants by now and even ones that are famous like cafe baulud in new york have had little vegetarian fare have been disappointing. the only exception that i can think of offhand is troquet, which had a mushroom pasta dish that was actually worth the price for once. thumbs up.

great wine, great food. being a small place lacking a glamorously catchy door on bolyston street, troquet really impressed me on my first visit. the extensive choice of wine really amazed me, and what's more exciting is that they serve most of them by the glass, allowing you to try fine selections in small portions. the food was impressive, as well as the service.

Wine list to die for. Troquet is 'runner up' for the past year - food is fantastic, not to mention the wine list ... Super service with no attitude. Great!

perfect birthday dinner. I recently went to Troquet for my birthday and it couldn't have been more perfect. My boyfriend and I had a romantic and intimate spot by the window, and the service was excellent. I loved the concept of pairing tastings of wines with each dish. We got 2 appetizers, each with an appropriate glass of wine, then ordered probably the best Pinot Noir I've ever had to go with dinner (thanks to the wonderful reccomendation by the owner and our server). I ordered the duck special which was perfect! Crispy on the outside and perfectly medium rare on the inside. Plus, the pieces of foie gras garnishing the dish was a nice touch and a pleasant surprise. Although it's not the most inexpensive restaurant, the prices were more than fair for the quality, quantity, and service we received. Everything was perfect and I can't wait to go back!

Just what Boston needs. Extremely high quality and good value. Excellent wine choices without the usual high markups. Foods goes well with the wine and excellent advice about matching food and wine. No other restaurant in Boston offers this combination.

They're family there at Troquet. I didn't apply in time to work there, but as someone who loves food and wine about as much as anything I can think of, I would list this as one of the top restaurants in Boston. Outstanding food, a RIDICULOUS wine list, and good friends make this a great time. I'm moving soon and will miss you terribly, fellas! -mike

PS--damn the haters--the salmon confit was one of the best things I have ever put in my mouth.

Troquet may look like the typical trendy. restaurant, but have a seat... We found a great blend of wine, food, and an experienced staff. First, we were early for our reservations, and didnt have to wait for our table. And while the wall seating felt narrow, once the courses came, there was no concern. The menu is thoughtfully planned for experiencing the food and wine combinations. The pea soup and soft shell crab starters, and the lamb and fish entrees were a big hit. We chose the cheese platter over sweets. The gentleman who described/served the cheeses was great. We tried six! The demitasse settings were a great conversation piece. Lastly, the wait staff; They bring courses in an entourage, and disappear as quickly as they came; And the bread just keeps coming! First class service all around, with prices more than on par with the rest of Boston. Troquet gets the Picky Eaters stamp of approval!
