Maybe, maybe not. I took my daughter for her birthday, we'd heard about it on the Phantom Gourmet. A very strange setting to be combined with a sports club, odd. You felt you were in the sports club cafe. Food was very good, waiter was excellent. Too expensive for the setting and the portions. Parking with the valet was a fiasco.

unimpressed. went for my birthday quite some time ago, and wasn't too thrilled. steak was tasty but certainly not the best. portions were small and most dishes weren't worth mentioning. definitely not worth the price tag, but mediocre food for its price. try the cafe for cheaper eats. good location from atop.

Fantastic Evening at Blu. My date and I had a fantastic evening at Blu! It was empty (Monday), and we were seated at a quiet window table. Our waiter was not only very knowledgeable, but also understood that we were out for a romantic night and let us eat at a very comfortable pace. To start, we had a chestnut and porcini soup and a carmelized onion tarte w/ goat cheese. These were both excellent - fantastic tastes that were right-on. Our entrees were the maple glazed venison which had delicious tastes of cumin, and the mustard-crusted lamb that was not only perfect, but also a large portion. Both of these melted away perfectly. Being athletes, we really appreciated the fact that we could enjoy gourmet food that had been prepared in a health-conscious manner. One downside: some wine prices were 3 times retail. That's a bit much for storing and uncorking a bottle.

A Faux Hip Abomination. I am surprised that Sports Club LA and the Ritz would associate themselves with such an abomination. The hostess was a moron. The pseudo-ecclectic crowd full of faux pretention and the food tasteless. Don't bother. There are no "beautiful people" here.

Blu is wonderful!. I have eaten at Blu on several occasions because I cannot get enough of the wonderful food and impeccable service there. Chef Dante deMagistris is a gracious host and a master at fine cuisine. Every item on the menu is a pleasure to the senses, from the chestnut soup to the three fish combo and the roasted chicken. The desserts are lovely, too. Although the prices exceed McDonald's, Blu deserves the highest of recommendation to impress even the most difficult to please diners!

A Taste of California in Beantown. SO refreshing to find such a California-style bar and restaurant in Boston. It is absolutely beautiful and intimate, simple yet elegant. The food is pricey but very good and the service is impeccable. It is great for a drink at the bar, aromantic dinner, or a group for a party. It's in a rather hidden spot (in the Sports Club, next to Jer-Ne) but it is well worth it. I went once and I was completely hooked so now I'm a regular!

Worth It!. I went to "Blu" with my girlfriend the other night. The manager (I believe his name was Mesut) seated us in the bar area and offered us a drink while we waited for a "better" table. This was fine with us, for the bar was beautiful and we got to soak in the atmosphere. After our drink, we were seated a beautiful window table. Our waiter was excellent. I bombarded him with questions and he had an answer for all of them. He was also very prompt and courteous. The food was incredible, and averagely priced for a fine dining establishment. I highly recommend the halibut! If you are into fine dining, "Blu" is a great new place in Boston. People who complain that these finer dining establishments are too expensive should know what they are getting themselves into and stay at "Durgin Park".
