Editorial Review for Sligo Pub – by Citysearch Staff

In Short
Weekend nights can get a bit crowded with overflow from the neighboring Burren, but most nights find a good mix of colorful locals, newly minted hipsters and crusty older gentlemen engaged in Guinness-soaked arguments. The tight quarters of the railroad-style bar ensure that, for better or worse, everybody talks to everybody else. The jukebox is pure classic rock, with Bruce Springsteen, the Rolling Stones and Tom Petty in nightly rotation.

A pint of Guiness for only $2.50! Unless this bar was filled with pedifiles and republicans, how could you keep me away?! Actually, the people (workers and patrons) here are great and I always feel at home when visitiing for more reasons than the cheap beer. I like their jukebox too!

Pros: Cheap beer, great people.

Cons: None that I can think of.

I love Sligo Pub. People dont go there to be seen or to pick up people half their age. People go there to have a good pint for a reasonable price and spend some time sitting around a bar with some old friends and maybe pump some quarters into an ancient juke box. And thats refreshing in Boston.

Pros: Drink value, attitude, service

Cons: all the cons make it what it is

Grungy, intimate Davis Square dive keeps loyal locals happy with cheap drinks and cramped quarters.  See the full editorial review.
