The Scene – Pool players searching for the area's best place for a serious game eschew Jillian's frenetic "adult playground" atmosphere in favor of the BBC's 55 picture-perfect tables. Weekends and Red Sox game nights draw standing-room crowds (expect to wait for a table), while non-game nights feature a decidedly calmer scene. Mainstream rock tunes and suggestively dressed cocktail waitresses add to a gentleman's club vibe. – – The Draw – While the overwhelming majority of patrons come to shoot pool, those who don't fill the bar and lounge areas to watch sporting…

BOSTON BILLIARD CLUB CLOSES DOWN PERMANENTLY

by FWChang at Citysearch

BOSTON BILLIARD CLUB CLOSES AFTER 19 YEARS!!!!

I was a regular patron who played there consistantly for the past 14 years; participated in their 8 ball league (an won once); and had at least 900 plus hours of pool time credited on my BBC member's card.

They had the one of the best pool hall facilities in New England - and I've been to just about every major place around. OK, some of the pool tables need a bit of fixing up lately, but they were still acceptable (and they just started to re-cloth some of the tables).

And I shall miss all the nice waitresses there - the sexiest and most beautiful in the world! Those micro-mini dresses they wore were dazzling. Most of them were pretty smart too - college or graduate students ("Hey, there's Danielle on her break reading a textbook like it was a paperback novel!").

When I went to the Boston Billiard Club last Sunday at noon (Jan 4th ) for the last time, I saw the "Closed" sign. Shocked, I slowly walked away. As I looked back, I saw two of the regular waitresses arrive at the entrance. By their expressions, I realized that they had not been fore-warned of the closing, and I felt really bad for them, was well as all the other employees and friends I had met at the club. Not a nice way to end things, but I guess all good things eventually come to an end.

a ripoff

by jayd3579 at Citysearch

I played at b,b, for about 6yrs. and then without telling anyone they just closed it. Around 50 of us showed up for the weekend tourney to find locked doors. Did I mention that was in between sessions and they kept prize money and trophies. I've been told not all of them closed so figured I'd warn people that lived around those ones not to trust them and if possible find a new place to play. happy new year

Wasted Staff = Horrible Service

by kc2213 at Citysearch

I usually enjoy this place to play some pool, but after this horrible experience with service, I'll never go back. We decided to go there late after work (around midnight) knowing they were open til 2am. It wasn't crowded at all, and there were a bunch of waitresses working. We flagged down the one in our area to get the lights at our table turned on, and then flagged her down again to order a round of drinks. Not sure why we had to flag her down, since I'm pretty sure we were her only table. We could tell right away that she was wasted - she was skipping around the pool hall and was all over my friend while taking his drink order. We finished our drinks and were hoping to order another, but she was hard to find. After a while, we finally called her over and ordered another round and played some more pool. When it came time to order another round (well before 1am), she was yet again nowhere to be found. At that point, the manager walked by us and was corralling the entire staff (most of whom also appeared to be wasted) into one of the private rooms next to our table, where she proceeded to shut the doors. I can only assume they all went in there to take shots or something... When they finally came out, our waitress never came over to us. We finally got her attention to order another round at 1:40, and she told us last call was at 1:30. Would've been nice if she had come around to give us last call. We didn't even finish our game - we just checked out and left. Since we both work in the restaurant industry, we always tip well no matter what - but not this time, and I still think we left too much. I've done my fair share of drinking behind the bar, but I would never let it interfere with customer service. This was by far the worst experience I've ever had in a restaurant/bar/lounge.
