Best indian cuisine!. The best thing is its flavourful food and great and quick service. Try the fluffy and delicious naans, and the chicken tikka masala. Give this place a try because u wont regret it, they have deliveries on foodler, and they deliver fast

not good. i live .25 miles from this place, and i had never been, so my sister and i decided to try them out via foodler. the delivery took an hour for our samosas, naan, two entrees, and rice. everything was ice cold and we had to reheat all of it before eating...then, my aloo mutter had absolutely no sauce or flavor. my sister's saag paneer had no cheese in it. the aloo naan was floppy and soggy, and as far as i could tell contained no potato. the only redeeming item was the samosa, which was as good as what i have had at fast food indian places. we will definitely avoid this place and i recommend you avoid it too!

I think the last two reviews are regarding Gourmet Curry Hou. Just to be clear to be fair to the owners of Gourmet India, the last two reviews shown here (based on the date) appear to be with respect to Gourmet Curry House. According to my memory (and I live right in the area) Gourmet India sold that location at the start of May 2008. I still visit their other location in the Pru and in Burlington and have nothing but positive things to say. I have been tried Gourmet Curry House and agree that their food is sub-par, if that.

avoid this place. one of the poorest food quality i have ever seen..and not to mention the very unfriendly atmosphere...especially of the man and also sometimes the lady who serves at the counter... sometimes meat and vegetable is stale and spiced up to keep the stench out..! Strictly avoid it ..! go to kashmir (newbury street) or rani instead.(just two shops ahead on beacon street)

bad qualit n quantity. its tooo expensive atleast thy should add one more roti i mean 2 roti/plate for the cost thy charge..........

better going to burger king instead of gourmet india

Avoid!. Not sure if we caught them at the end of the shift but sorry guys I really wouldn't recommend. The chicken tikka massala was watery and the meat was very poor. The naan bread was overcooked and soggy at the same time. Although the other reviews say that it's good for the price I have to disagree. Avoid at all costs.

Perfect for a quick bite on the way home from work (or on the way to the Coolidge Corner Cinema), Gourmet India keeps convenient hours for its loyal patrons. While the restaurant does a sizable takeout business, most diners choose to take their food from the counter and grab a table in the bright, clean dining area. Atmosphere is provided by an upbeat Indian soundtrack and views of busy Beacon Street.

The Food
The kitchen keeps customers happy by dishing up tasty interpretations of standard Indian favorites (lamb vindaloo, chicken tandoori) at bargain-basement prices. Entrees, which come with a choice of fluffy Basmati rice or freshly-baked naan (warm, puffy flatbread), top out at $6. Vegetarians feel right at home, as half the menu features no meat (try the saag paneer, a goulash of spinach and farmer's cheese). Before leaving, enjoy a cup of smoky chai or a creamy mango shake.

Indian Fast Food and Cafeteria Style. Get in line and order at the counter from an array of pre-made entrees, I started with the Chicken Tikka Masala and Potatoes Curry. You get two cup fulls of each and a good sized fluffy naan. Dining room is open-brick, high-ceilinged and modern, grab a table or bench and you're ready to chow down. The Tikka Masala was ok, the sauce was pretty bland and the chicken cut up for a stew. The curried potatoes were also ok, but lacking in spiciness. Best part of the meal was the fluffy naan! Overall just an ok place for Indian but it may be as good as you get in the Boston area. Not a bad choice for a quick lunch or dinner but they need to be a bit more aggressive with the flavoring.

Tasty and Affordable!. My husband and I love to pick up takeout at Gourmet India. The dining room is loud and normally very busy so we prefer to take the food home. I find the food to be comparable to some other indian restaurants in the area for only a fraction of the price. Highly recommended.

decent... worth going every now and then. I feel like the quality of Indian restaurants in the Boston area is going down in general, and so I was pleasantly surprised that this relatively cheap self-service joint had pretty good food. The dishes I have had here compared favourably with those of places like Bombay Club, Kabob'n Curry and Bukhara... for about half the price. Other than lunch buffets, I really have no reason to go anywhere else for Indian food other than Gourmet India. One word of caution... the quality (esp. the texture of meat) varies from time to time, sometimes pretty bad. But I guess that comes with the territory of cheap cafeterias where food just sits all day.
