Editorial Review for Boston Beer Works – by Eric Grossman
The Scene
While the line at this bar's popular Fenway Park location routinely stretches down the block, visitors here rarely have trouble procuring a table or barstool. The calming, industrial atmosphere (high ceilings, exposed sheet metal) is ideal for those looking to cool off after a tough loss. Friendly bartenders and waitresses keep a mostly local crowd happy.
The Draw
With lots of seating and plenty of TV screens, this is a good spot for those without tickets to catch all the action. Beer fans enjoy award-winning microbrews, lovingly crafted on the premises--at least a dozen of the brewery's 20-plus varieties are available at any given time. While the ground floor is dedicated to drinking and dining, patrons head upstairs to shoot pool on one of a dozen championship tables. Don't skip the eclectic menu's sweet-potato fries or pizzas (made with brewer's grain dough).

Know Before You GoOn weekend nights, pool tables fill up fast. Take a pager and grab a seat at the bar.
ParkingForget about driving here when there's a game down the street at the Fleet Center. Luckily, the T stops right across the street (North Station).
What to OrderOn a low-carb kick? Order a pint of Hub Super Light, the brewery's low-carb beer.

I really liked Boston Beer Works as the atmosphere is casual yet lively. They have a big bar with many different types of beer. There are two floors and the place is always packed. This is a great place to go before or after a Celtics game or a concert. Located right across from the Green and Orange lines for convenient transportation for those who do not wish do drive into Boston. I thought the food and the service were excellent!

OK I am from the West Coast and I am used to friencly places, but this place was the worst I found in Boston. We were treated very discourteously and the manager Gary only made matters worse. The food was cold and oversalted. The beer was warmish and tasted like amateurs homebrew. Sorry but there are a lot of other pubs on this street that do better.
Pros: near the north station T station
Cons: discourteous service and bland food.
