Best Haircut for Women in Boston. I have been seeing Christine Bellmare for the past 2 years and have never been unsatisfied. She is so easy to talk to and really listens to what you want. More importantly, she appreciates and understands women and is completely honest. If she thinks you should change your color she will suggest it or if she thinks bangs might suit your face better, she will let you know but she will NEVER force her opinions on you. It is clear that after 2 years of wonderful haircuts, Christine has it down.…
The Best Salon Ever. From hair cut, to color ,waxing or facials everything is perfect at Maksou. I never liked my hair before i walked in this salon but after a hair cut with Charles and highlights with Luz I fell in love with my hair.I would also defently recomend Paola for waxing not only she was pleasant but because of how fast she was there was no pain, with her specialty threading (a hair removal method) she excels and her facials are extremly relaxing.…
My Fabalous Experience. From the minute I walked into Maksou I felt comfortable. The front desk was very helpful, and welcoming. I had a appt. for a cut with Charles. While waiting the staff showed great customer service asking me if I would like a beverage. The salon environment was amazing. I felt great energy, and the clients all had smiles on their faces. When I met Charles, he made me feel as though he was really interested in what I wanted as the end result of my cut. Focusing on the shape of my face. texture of my hair, and what would be realistic for my life style. I have been to many stylist, and I have never had such a nice cut. The style looked beautiful, and after a washed it at home I was able to get the same type of style. That I have never been capable of doing before. I will defintely be visiting Maksou again! I had also went to the spa for a manicure. It was a different atmosphere, and a great way to end my first time experience, at the Fabalous Maksou!!!…
I was that upset client. Charles cut my hair & ignored me when I was saying what I wanted & just started snipping away, explaining why he ?is the best? (his words not mine). After about 25 minutes of this, he grabbed a colorist, Christine, who did a great job. She blewout my hair & did a good job, but before it was done he came over to give me tips. Although she had already put product in my hair, he put more in & proceeded to tease the hair on top of my head & left it like that. I was in such shock I couldn?t react, but was just hoping it looked awful from this styling not the cut itself. I left, putting a baseball hat on before anyone saw me. I went back the next day. Charles was a self-righteous a** about it all. He basically told me that I was an idiot if I didn?t think I looked good.(Ahem, it?s 2006, not 1986) He said I needed bangs to hide my forehead & that it needs to be all choppy for volume. All this volume is on top & it leaves me with what I have dubbed mullety hockey hair. Initially he said he spent 1 hour working with me, when a woman from the salon came over to assist in the problem & was very complimentary of his work, saying how well blended it was. They had me sit down so they could show me how to style it better. Consisted of having my dry hair dried again by him while he muttered about how he spent 2 hrs with me the night before, who when I still wasn?t happy stomped off like a 3 year old muttering about how I don?t know what style is. The woman stayed & talked with me some more &, when I again reiterated what I didn?t like, shellacked my new bangs over & offered me free hairspray. At this point I heard Charles saying he had spent 3 hours with me the night before (my appoint was @ 5, I left the salon @ 7)They said to see what I thought of it & call back if I wanted more fixed. I did & have gotten no call back. So the color I got is excellent, but the cut is offensive. It is stuck someplace between Carol Brady & Nicholas Bradford (from 8 is Enough).…
I didn't like an interaction between stylist and unhappy client that I observecd.
I was here getting my hair cut and observed the owner and an unhappy client interacting. I don't completely know what the issue was, but the woman was visibly upset, and distraught. She was
trying to explain something and all they did was blowdry her already dry hair and then give her hairspray. The owner acted somewhat like a child about it all, as if he has never wrong in his life or something. I heard him say how is the best there is and he wouldn't make her look bad and he kept saying over and over about how she needed her hair cut this way. He kept talking about how much time he spent with her (which increased more than once during it all). He ended up skalking off and another woman was helping her by the end.
I wanted to say something to the woman because I agreed her hair didn't look quite right, but it really wasn't my place at the time. Seeing the whole thing unfold really turned me off to the salon and the level of overall service you can expect. Although I was in general happy with my personal experience, this scene will stick in my mind.…
