I have been seeing Christine Bellmare for the past 2 years and have never been unsatisfied. She is so easy to talk to and really listens to what you want. More importantly, she appreciates and understands women and is completely honest. If she thinks you should change your color she will suggest it or if she thinks bangs might suit your face better, she will let you know but she will NEVER force her opinions on you. It is clear that after 2 years of wonderful haircuts, Christine has it down.
Pros: Spacious Salon, Great Service
Cons: Parking

I went to this salon under the recommendation of a friend, and I was rather disappointed. I told Maksou how I wanted my hair cut, but he didn't really listen. He cut it in very choppy steps, which I know is supposed to create more volume in your hair, but it's not at all what I asked for, and it was a very "emo-scenester" kind of look, which is the last thing I wanted. I asked him to fix this, and he did. For the entire 15 minutes he spent cutting my hair, he talked about himself, and when I tipped him (because I'm nice, not because I actually felt he earned it) he was rather flippant about it. He didn't even tell me to have a nice day! The whole time he was cutting my hair, his cronies (i.e. junior stylists) crowded around him, cocking their heads, and pretending to be enthralled in his work. I feel like I should have gotten my haircut 1/2 off since it was basically an impromptu training session for them. The salon doesn't offer much in the way of refreshments, either. Just tea, coffee, or water, which I wasn't offered until more than 1/2 way through my haircut. Rather comical considering less costly haircuts have usually been accompanied with a broader array of refreshments and snacking options. Overall, the salon was unimpressive, and the only thing that stands out in my mind about this place is the pretentiousness of the staff. Next time I want to pay $100 and deal with attitude I'll at least get a good cut out of it! :/
Pros: Convenient downtown location
Cons: Staff, pretentiousness, undeservedly self-congratulatory attitude
