Private Parties Done Right!. I recently had my 30th birthday party at The Point and I have nothing but good things to say about it. From the function manager, to the owner, to the bartender, to the bar backs. The Point really makes you feel like it is YOUR bar for the night. The food was incredible (scallops in bacon, chix teryaki, beef skewers). Our guests were raving about everything as well. Even my parents commented on how lovely the bartender was. I would highly recommend this bar for a private party, or even just a fun night out. They really know how to treat their patrons.
Cozy multi-level hangout provides an alternative to the Quincy Market area's numerous Irish pubs..
In Short
Once an old man's bar around the corner from the Haymarket, this locale now serves as a gathering spot for stylish young professionals. The decor is bare-bones, but furnished with inviting little touches like a marble bar, comfy padded barstools and soft-lit wall sconces. For the hungry, a wide selection of bar fare (burgers, chicken wings) is available. Designer martinis and a varied beer selection highlight the drink menu.
Sunday Breakfast Brunch. I had 7 hours before my flight back to Houston and stumbled upon The Point. Immediately when I walked in, Stephanie behind the bar made me feel welcome and at home. I had a cup of coffee and ordered breakfast before she could mix me her special Bloody Mary (Sunday noon Mass liquor law). I had a fantastic Eggs Oscar; coffee with chocolate spoons; and 3 Bloody Mary's which flew me back to HTown. Both Stephanie & Erin were personable; the patrons were friendly; and Olympics fever in the air. TV's comfortably surround the downstairs eating and bar area. I recommend Sunday brunch ... a great way to start the week.
The Point is the place to go!.
I love the Point! The bartenders are so friendly and the drinks are great. They have some great deals like half price pizza nights and 10 cent wing nights. The food is excellent.
I love the bar here, it feels classy yet cozy. People that go here are no nice.
Excellent!!. One of my favorite places in Boston! The food is excellent - miles above the standard bar fare. The owners have done a simply amazing job of refurbishing an old corner bar into a cozy and inviting place to hang out.
Good Use of Napkins. Enticed into the bar by the offer of free drinks on a Thursday night we wound up staying awhile because the bartending staff, owner, and regular patrons were just so darn friendly. Being the stylish young professionals that we are, we fit right in at this cozy, upscale establishment. A word to the wise... watch your straws as some patrons enjoy taking them out of your drink, licking them, and replacing them all without your knowledge. Make sure to talk to the guy at the bar with the infectious laugh. And bring some of the loincloth axe napkins home in your purse for a good laugh the next morning. Definitely walked in there sober and left not knowing what i was doing thanks to upenndave/andrew's strong drinks. One of the best nights out we've had in awhile, and we go out quite a bit.
Best Employees Ever. The Point is a fun cozy bar where you really do get treated as a friend every time you're in there. Not only are the drinks awesome (they will make whatever you want) the bartenders and djs interact with the patrons more than any other bar or club I've ever been to and are happy to put back a beer or a shot with you and remember you every time you come back. The Point has pool downstairs and dancing upstairs so don't miss it because its in the back of the bar to the left. With varied music styles from hip hop (old and new) to electronic (breaks, trance, progressive, and splashes of techno and drumnbass) it's a place to chill and dance, but most importantly to tip back a few :)!
Excellent. In a city with a multitude of bars, I finally found one that was comfortable and happy. Great place!
Reggae Sundays. Sunday nights at The Point is perhaps the best vibe in the entire city on that night. It is a very laid back atmosphere where people can dance, talk, or just sit back and people watch. On a hot summer night, there is no better place to be than The Point.
