First, I know it's unrelated, but parking was nightmare for a matinee show. We arrived a half hour early and it took us that long to get parked. How about a police detail? One of the ticket takers was extremely rude, and the line for drinks during intermission stretched the width of the building because they only had one person serving per floor. We paid a lot of money and, outside of the actual performance, was very disappointed with how the event was managed.
Exceptional Ambience. I recently attended an event at this theatre. It was an excellent experience for me....one I'll never forget. I had box seats which was a real plus. I had an excellent view and was able to come and go at my leisure without interrputing anybodys view. It was definitely a positive experience for me and I would go back to this theatre to see another show.
A romp in palatial pomp..
Setting the Stage
When local luminaries want to pull out all the stops for their nuptials, they rent out the Wang Center in its entirety. Picture the beautifully ornate 1920s theater dressed to the nines, its grand staircase and balconies decked out in floral swags galore, and its marble main hall a dance floor.
Details, Details
The Wang Center holds up to 750 people, but you can also book a reception for as little as 100 people. Reservation schedules vary.
The Cost
Stratospheric. Be prepared to shell out a venue fee of $5,000, bar costs from $25 to $70/person and catering fees of about $150/person. A $5,000 deposit (the venue fee) is required when you book the date.
The way a theatre should be. It's an aboslutely beautiful theatre! But, I wouldn't advise getting seats in the orchestra becuase you can't get up and go to the bathroom if you need to, otherwise they won't let you back in until intermission. Box seats are definitely the way to go. The view is amazing and you can come and go as you please.
A Dazziling Place To Be. The Wang Center has been one of my favorite places to go see Shows. It seems as if everytime I go to a show at the Wang, my visits are better each time. The staff is wonderful, the acoustics are amazing, and I haven't seen a bad show yet. In my opinion, I would suggest that you go check out the ambiance and beauty of the Wang Center.
