Colorful fish tanks, framed butterflies, cream colored walls and metallic fans conspire to set a distinctly romantic mood, much to the satisfaction of the many young couples who stop in before a show or after a study break. For the uninitiated, Brown Sugar's epic menu provides a flavorful intro to the pleasures of Thai fare. Experienced diners revel in authentic preparations of favorites like choo chee fisherman (seafood with a kaffir lime-spiced curry sauce) and masaman curry. Newbies can select from dozens of not-too-spicy, not-too-foreign options like crunchy spring rolls and cloyingly…
Run away from this place
by plymouthgirl
After reading all of your glowing reviews, I made the big mistake of eating here last night prior to an event at the Agganis Arena. We ordered a variety of items (fresh spring rolls, ribs, pad thai special of the day and spicy pork & green beans) they were all lacking in flavor, spice and culinary skill. This place is a mill where they churn out subpar food that all looks and tastes the same. They rush the food to your table and try to hustle you out to turn as many tables as possible. I can only assume they do not think you are coming back so crappy food and rushed service are the norm. Do not waste your time or money, eating at any of the fast food places nearby is a better bet than this place.
- Pros: none
- Cons: food not very authentic, bathroom was filthy
Fantastic Thai food with great service

The food was outstanding - their khao soi (a Northern Thai yellow curry with crispy and soft noodles) was spot-on, just as I've eaten in Thailand, and the spicyness was just right. Service was efficient but unrushed and very friendly. If eating out in Boston I'd wholeheartedly recommend eating here.
- Pros: Great food, good value and excellent service
- Cons: -
good food, sub-par service

hostesses, not the happiest on earth. at peak times wait is longer than the meal itself. service is dependent on individual server. tables are placed very close to one another your rear end risks sweeping other people's food off their table. overall experience is... "acceptable."
food, for the most part, is great, and they have about 20 kinds of pad thai for you to try at each visit! my personal fav is the roast duck red curry, although one time it was on a sweeter side of curry (which i like) and one time it was like szechuan spicy.
:)
- Pros: totally T accessible (green line B), good food.
- Cons: street parking along comm ave hasn't been difficult, if you go early. nowhere but outside to wait during winter season.
