this is the best lunch in boston.
i love food. even when i dont have time for lunch i want great food. cosi is great food. someone turned me on originally to the signature salad. what i later found out was a roasted sherry shallot vinagrette this is the best salad in boston.
but it really is all about the bread. the bread is to die for.
the people are very nice and unbelievably fast. i met the owner once and he really seems to care about the food.
there is something very cool about cosi.

Sandwiches go gourmet at this quick-service chain known for its wood-fire hearths and signature flat bread..
In Short
Styled to evoke the feel of a Parisian café, the focal point of each restaurant is an open-flame stone oven, which swiftly turns out thin-crust pizzas, made-to-order panini and open-faced melts on Roman-style flat bread. Fresh ingredients--including mozzarella, tomatoes, buffalo chicken and secret-recipe dressings--are used in both the sandwiches and the long list of specialty salads. Sweet treats like S'mmm.Oreos (chocolate bar, graham crackers and marshmallows with an extra-large Oreo cookie) are equally popular.

Great Food; Needs Management Help.
The salads are fresh, interesting and made right in front of you. The bread is wonderful. The sandwiches are different, but excellent. Did I mention the bread is wonderful?
But...
The management at this place needs a refresher course in operations processing. I have sworn this place off at least a half dozen times, but I usually go back after I cool down. I have been in the salad line for 15+ minutes (which is a long time when you are trying to get a quick lunch). I usually see people walk in, look at the line, and leave - on every visit.
And what the heck is a squagel, and why is it necessary?
