Editorial Review for Race Point Beach – by Citysearch Editors
In Short
One of the most spectacular beaches in the state, Race Point, at the very tip of Cape Cod, is a sweeping eight miles long. There are an expanse of rolling dunes, and surfing is allowed. It's also a nice spot for swimmers, but water depths drop off sharply. Sunsets here are beautiful. If you keep your eye on the water, you may catch a whale: Stellwagen Bank, a prime feeding area, is nine miles away.

This beach is one of the most beautiful on the east coast. It is never crowded, even on the weekends in the middle of Summer. One drawback is that the water is COLD, but the kids never seem to mind. And yes, you can watch the sunset because of the angle that the cape takes at it's tip. Bring dinner, a bottle of wine and a kite and have a simple, magical evening.
Pros: Beauty, Parking, Sunsets

POINT OF INTEREST: !!! Race point is the ONLY place on the Contenential US that one can see the sun rise and set over water! The sunsets here are BREATHTAKING and many townsfolk drive out to catch the beauty nightly.
