What People Are Saying About Venu

In Short – Boston's jet-set gathers to swill mixed drinks, guzzle bottled water and dance to the pulsating sounds of some of the city's hottest DJs. Venu accommodates four bars, all of which are situated just steps above the recessed and always crowded dance floor. Colored, pulsating lights complement the throbs of the music--music so loud it makes conversation nearly impossible (though no one really comes here to talk).

My last Facebook post: is glad everybody survived the partial nite at Venu - def the last time anybody goes there. Music sucked, overcharged for cover, overcharged for miss-made drinks and my friend accosted/threatened by the ahem..aggressive, socially diverse crowd.
If you're interested in hanging out with 100 guys who obviously don't know how to wear the dress clothes they show up in and 100 women who shouldn't be wearing the clothes they're trying to pull off - definitely check it out.
- Pros: Is a club that charges $25 cover
- Cons: Music, Crowd, Drinks, Environment
trying too hard ... will never go back

this club was trying too hard to be posh. it obviously pays groups of attractive girls to just stand around, and it charges way too much for just about everything. cover was expensive ($20) as was coat check ($4) and drinks ($12). the bouncer made us stand outside for 20 minutes after opening (11 pm), and it was freezing outside. music was random (jumped from real mccoy to kanye west to green day) and it took a while for people to start dancing (which might be expected, though you'd figure that the hot girls they hire would try to dance and alleviate the awkwardness). tables are right up next to the small "dance area" and so glasses, drinks, and napkins wind up all over the floor. and even though you've paid all that money to be somewhere stylish, you will still find sketchy characters trying to grind up on/touch you. i did not find venu to be classy at all.
- Pros: attractive girls (hired)
- Cons: price, attitude of staff, sketchy people pretending to be hip

I went to Venu as a round out to my birthday week Extravaganza with a group of my friends and it was utterly Superb. I loveeeeeed the music, a mix of house, rock, hip hop, it was excellent. The drinks were a bit overpriced that was the only down side but it was worth it. The crowd was amazing, the dance floor was packed with people looking to have a great time, and the entrance was quick and easy, we literally waited for less then 3 minutes, It seriously could not have gone any better.
- Pros: Packed with stylish and hot people, Fantastic Music
- Cons: Overpriced drinks
