This little gourmand thank goodness was not raised Kosher because there is so much to love about Pig. From a perfect slice of bacon on an egg sandwich to the gorgeous pork belly steamed buns made at home with Stillman's Farm meat. There is so much to love. I'm not at the chocolate bacon stage yet, but that's just me.

This is our kitchen away from home. The kids love to come here for pancakes or egg sandwiches. The egg sandwiches are so good. The coffee is good and you can pick up a few groceries or a bottle of wine while you're at it too!

The egg sandwich here is for the days that you're really hungry. A huge fluffy pile of scrambled eggs or two fried eggs and a generous portion of glistening crispy bacon and your choice of cheese on an English Muffin will get you through any busy day.

Henrietta's Table

Since Henrietta of Henrietta's Table is a pig she must be included here. In addition the Anadama bread at HT is one of my favourite breads ever, I love getting breakfast here and for a total splurge there is always the brunch. From crisp bacon to salty Canadian bacon or ham there is plenty of pig to be enjoyed.

Cheddars Pizzeria

I have never been a huge ham fan although while I was pregnant I craved a salty ham and American cheese (yes it had to be so) from Cheddars. The buns were fresh, the mustard was yellow and the lettuce was crisp. This little spot near the new Trader Joe's in Cambridge is worth a visit.

I am a fan of the Jambon de Paris. I like the French style ham. It isn't smokey and the saltiness is just right. There are all kinds of sandwich and grilled panini options for lunch. From the excellent BLT to the Cuban sandwich. A great choice is the slim jim full of salami and other charcuterie in a slight sourdough ficelle from Iggy's. Take some for lunch or pick up some slices for home. Plenty of pig for everyone.

If you haven't tried it yet, the Oxford Spa's BAT- Bacon Arugula and Tomato sandwich is soooooo good. The bread is nice and fresh the bacon is crunchy and crips and the arugula is such a brilliant idea. Now that the weather is nicer, take a walk past Harvard and head to The Oxford Spa.

Redbones

Redbones is the place I go for my baby back ribs. If you love the petite porc ribs then get 'em but there are ribs of every sort. In general I am not a huge chicken fan, but the bbq chicken wings on the appetizer menu are fabulous too! Bring your bike because the parking (two-wheeled that is) is valet.

There is often a great debate, but I like them all. Blue Ribbon Barbeque is my choice for take-out. The sauce is great and they even have it at Whole Foods. I am a baby back fan and I like all the sauces but have a sweet spot for vinegar.

I haven't been here in ages but it's always on my radar for bbq. When I think pig I'm thinking bacon or ribs and I'll go here for ribs anytime. It's a nice night out with friends or family.

Grab a seat at the bar or pick up a Cubano on the way home. This is my stop of choice for the cuban sandwich. If I have the time I'll get a periodista, a seat at the bar and a Cuban...yes the sandwich....and I'm set for a blissful evening.
